Spiritual Growth

Our Spiritual Growth Ministry includes all our Christian Education Programs such as Bible Studies, Sunday School classes, Confirmation classes, Vacation Bible School, and other Christian studies.  We also have a very active Prayer E-mail Chain and Prayer Group that meets every Wednesday morning.   Our Men's Fellowship group meets the fourth Tuesday of the month and has about 12-15 members.  Our Women's Fellowship group also meets on the fourth Tuesday, usually at Peggy Alexander or Sharon McElroy's home..

 Christian Education

The learning process never ends.  We grow in our friendship with God and each other through studying God’s word in a fun and practical way.  Our Christian Education program includes Sunday classes for ages 4-adult, several other study groups during the week,  first communion classes and confirmation classes.

Adult Sunday Study group -

Various topics are covered in a discussion format.  Each topic stands on its own, so that anyone is welcome to attend any Sunday.  Meets at 10:15 am. through December 2011 and at 9:15 from January 8, 2012 through Easter Sunday, April 8th.

Contemplative Study Group -

This ministry is based on the fact that the Holy Spirit dwells in each of us. Through prayer, meditation, reading, and reflection we will spend time with God in the midst of our daily lives. If you would like more information, please contact Steve Brauner (280-7312), who will serve as the leader of this ministry.

Confimation Classes -

Classes will start again on Wednesday, September 7th, meeting each week in Pastor Dave’s office from 4:30-5:30 p.m. These classes are part of the two-year confirmation process which gives 7th and 8th grade youth a chance to take a deeper look at their Christian faith, and grow in their understanding of God’s relationship with them. At the end of the two years, each youth is asked to write a personal statement of their faith which they read to the congre-gation as they publically confess their desire to keep the relationship with God, that was begun at their baptism, a part of their life. Please speak with Pastor Dave (879-7979) if you would like to know more about these classes.

First Communion class is for 4th grade and older -

A time to learn about the bread and wine we share as part of every worship service.  Confirmation class is for 7th and 8th graders.  It include the study of the Christian faith which leads to reaffirming the faith in God which was first begun in baptism.
